Advising Holds
Advising Holds are a temporary lock on registration which is placed on all undergraduate students during week 5 of every term. This hold prevents the students from making any changes to their schedule, including registering for new classes until the hold is removed.
To remove your advising hold begin the process with step 1 below, if unsuccessful, you may proceed down the list of steps:
- Meet with your assigned academic advisor. For information on how to find your advisor, click here.
- IF your assigned advisor is not available, you may meet with any member of the department in which you are majoring. The advisor you meet with must then call the Student Success and Advising office from their office phone and request the hold be removed.
- IF there are no advisors available in the department, you may contact the Division Chair of the division which you are majoring. The Division Chair must then call the Student Success and Advising office from their office phone and request the hold be removed.
- IF the Division Chair is not available, you may contact the Dean of the college you are a part of (Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Kathleen Cassity or Dean of the College of Education, Mark Girod). The Dean must then call the Student Success and Advising office from their office phone and request the hold be removed.
Please Note: The Student Success and Advising office cannot remove your advising hold UNLESS you are assigned as academic advisor from our department.
