About the CS and Mathematics Major

This major melds two related disciplines into one practical major. If you’ve envisioned a career in software engineering but want to take courses that are heavy in advanced calculus and algebra, you’ve come to the right place. Get the education you need to land a position working on some of the latest innovations in tech while still nurturing your love for all things mathematics.

Computer Science/Mathematics majors must have a grade of C or better in computer science courses and a grade of C- or better in the mathematics courses used to satisfy the computer science/mathematics major requirements.

Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
