Teach @ WOU

What is it like teaching Computer Science and Information Systems at WOU? At WOU, students and their educational goals come first. We’re here to help students, from all backgrounds and levels of experience, develop solid foundations in the computing sciences and then build practical skills to be ready for a great career in the Information and Software industries. Our faculty care about student success. We work hard to develop outstanding courses that align with academic and industry standards, deliver them in small class settings, evaluate, mentor and advise our students. We get to know our students and celebrate their success after graduation.

Welcome our Newest Faculty

Lucas Cordova joined WOU in Fall 2019. Prior to teaching, Lucas worked in industry for 15 years, primarily as a full stack software engineer, developing distributed, mobile, and cloud applications. His pedagogical philosophy consists of engaging students in challenging, worthwhile ideas, which emphasize student-teacher relationships, multiple sources of knowledge, the value of bridging theory and practice, and the importance of collaborative learning. His research interests focus on software engineering; specifically, development methodologies, software testing and verification methods, and software engineering education. During his free time, Lucas spends a lot of discovery time at the coast with his partner and furry children.
