Ya-Fang Cheng and Jaclyn Caires-Hurley will facilitate this session. The recruitment and retention of students of color persists as an issue of educational equity in the U.S. The syllabus is a tool to create inclusive learning environments to respond to pre-service teachers’ diverse needs. The authors employ Peralta Online Equity Rubric to describe how syllabi communicate considerations for educational equity in higher education instructors online classes and propose a framework for reexamining and developing an inclusive syllabus.
