Green Dots For Staff

Green Dots for Staff

Want to inspire your students to play a part in reducing power-based personal violence?

Staff are critical in creating a culture of safety and empowerment for our students. On this page you’ll find some ideas about how you can empower your students to prevent violence at Western Oregon University. Can’t find what you need? Email or call us and we would be happy to help!

Local advocacy agency guide

Click here for a link to our easy guide to local advocacy agencies that can assist you as you help survivors of power-based personal violence

Need something to do at your next student meeting or training?

Why not give your students the power to make change on our campus? It’s easy: Email us and we can send one of our fun, trained health educators to help your students learn about Green Dot at WOU. Trainings/Info sessions available for student clubs or organizations include the following options:

* 10 minutes: Green Dot resources

* 50 minutes: Intro to Green Dot

* 2 Hours: On Our Way: The Beginnings of Change at WOU with Green Dot

* 6 Hours: Official Green Dot Bystander Training – participants are fully trained in bystander theory, recognizing violence and potentially dangerous situations, tools for creating change and resources available to students.

Reporting an Incident of Sexual Harassment/Assault

Have questions about how (or when) to report an incident of sexual violence disclosed to you by a student? Check out this “Reporting FAQs” from WOU’s C.A.S.A. (Campus Against Sexual Assault) grant program.

Questions about this document can be directed to the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs or CASA project manager, Christina Reagle, at reaglec@wou.edu.

Need help incorporating the Green Dot message into your daily work or student orgs?

Let one of our helpful health educators show you the many options (simple to the more involved) that you can help get the message of Green Dot to your students. Our staff are familiar with the benefits and challenges facing advisors and student organizations at WOU.

To set up a consultation, email wimmerc@wou.edu
