Graduate Student
- Students must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a cumulative B average (equivalent to 3.0 on a U.S. 4.0 grading scale)
Non-Degree Seeking Student
- 2.75 unweighted cumulative GPA
- Complete, sign application form
- Complete, sign Financial Affidavit
- Official Transcripts & English translation
- Proof of English proficiency
- Financial documentation
- Copy of passport ID page
All non-native English-speaking students must provide proof of English proficiency. Applicants are exempt from the proficiency testing requirements if they received or will receive a bachelor’s degree or higher from an institution located in an English-speaking country, graduates of secondary or postsecondary institutions where the medium of instruction is English, and if they are a citizen of one of the countries/territories listed below, or received or will receive an associate degree or higher
from an accredited U.S. institution.

All students are assessed a one-time mattriculation fee of $365.

Western Oregon University does not have any designated or guaranteed scholarships for international students. However, once admitted, international students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale will automatically receive the Merit Scholarship. The amounts indicated on the site are annual and renewable annually. International students are also eligible to apply for two types of scholarships, General Scholarships and Departmental Scholarships. The application process includes submitting required documents and essays. Evaluation criteria include GPA, awards, extracurriculars, and essay quality. For more information, click here.

Please indicate the student’s V# (admission number on the admission letter) when you wire transfer funds to WOU. Funds that are wire transferred into a student’s WOU account can only be used towards the student’s tuition, not personal expenses.
