Western Oregon University’s Newsletter: September 3rd, 2024
We had an incredible time at the Fiesta Mexicana parade in Woodburn a few weeks back! This year, we were honored to join former Oregon Representative and alumni Teresa Alonso Leon and her family in the festivities, and we’re truly grateful for her support. Our students, staff, and Mariachi band came out in full force, proudly representing Western. As we look ahead, we’re gearing up for move-in day on September 22 and are welcoming our students back to campus this month. The first day of fall term is September 30. Go Wolves!
A Message from President Peters
Dear Community,
We had a great time participating in Woodburn’s Fiesta Mexicana parade last month, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to alumni and former Oregon Representative Teresa Alonso Leon and her family—and the Woodburn community for the warm reception. We are looking forward to participating again next year and hope to make it a permanent annual event.
Also last month, the presidents of Oregon’s technical and public regional universities and Rep. Paul Evans, visited Taiwan to form a new international partnership with Wenzao University. We look forward to welcoming more international students to Western.
We. Are. Wolves!
