Accommodations
This page contains information about common accommodations through the Office of Disability Services (ODS) at Western Oregon University. If you need a reminder to implement your accommodations, check out our Tips and Resources to be Successful.
Priority Registration
Students who maintain an active file in the Office of Disability Services (ODS) and are approved for academic accommodations are eligible for priority registration. Priority Registration is available one week before registration opens for all other students at WOU. ODS allows you to register early in order to plan ahead for the accommodations you will need for the coming term.
Advocacy
All students have the opportunity to receive assistance in understanding the policies and procedures of the University in order to communicate with the faculty and staff. ODS promotes self-advocacy and assists students with these skills. If you are interested in such assistance, please make an appointment with the Office of Disability Services at your earliest convenience.
Common Accommodations, Explained
Once you have been approved for services by ODS, we will send you a welcome letter via your campus email and request that you contact our office to schedule an orientation. During orientation, an ODS staff representative will explain how your services work and how to access them through AIM.
Select the accommodation category below to learn more about different accommodations. Please note that this is not an all-inclusive list and work with our office if you would like to request other accommodations.
